Thomson, Rogers investigating civil claims regarding alleged sexual abuse by Toronto anesthesiologist

On March 11, 2010, a Toronto anaesthesiologist was charged by the Toronto Police after three women allegedly told Police they were sexually assaulted at North York General Hospital.

Thomson, Rogers has been retained by one of the complainants to pursue potential civil claims for damages relating to this matter.

Changes to Ontario Auto Insurance Legislation

According to media reports, on Monday, November 2, 2009 the Ontario Minister of Finance will announce changes to the Ontario Automobile Insurance Legislation and to the Ontario Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule in response to the five year review by the Financial Services Commission of Ontario.

According to initial media reports, the changes will reduce the basic motor vehicle policy coverage in an attempt to lower premiums.
